Important Notices for Club Treasurers!

The District dues are $6.50 per member per quarter and a $30.00 Convention Fee annually per club. The dues are calculated on the total club membership reported by National on the last day of the past quarter.

Please pay the amount billed on your invoice, do NOT make any adjustments on your total membership. If there are pluses or minuses in the club membership, they have to be accomplished through National, not throught the District. If there is a mistake at the National level, then and only then will the correction be made and a credit will be given to the club on the following quarter's invoice. The billing is on a quarterly basis starting the months of July, October, January and April each year.

An important reminder to all clubs in the District of the IRS regulations
All Exchange Clubs are required to file a tax return with the IRS. The IRS is giving smaller organizations time to adapt to a new form by allowing them to file Form 990-EZ instead of Form 990. For 2012 returns, this applies to organizations with gross receipts greater than $25,000 but less than $1 million and assets less than $2.5 million. For the clubs that have revenue of less than $25,000 (this would apply to most of the clubs), you must file a 990-N (or e-postcard). This filing is for informational purposes only, and no taxes will actually be paid. However, failure to file this return for three consecutive years will result in a penalty charge and an automatic loss of your club's federal tax-exempt status. For your convenience, you can file online. For more information about filing requirements and electronic filing, visit www.irs.gov/eo or call 1-877-829-5500 (toll free).
