Important Notice for Club Treasurers!

The District dues are $6.50 per member per quarter and a $30.00 Convention Fee annually per club. The dues are calculated on the total club membership reported by National on the last day of the past quarter. If there are pluses or minuses in the club membership, they have to be accomplished through National. The billing is on a quarterly basis starting in July, October, January and April each year. National dues are $15.50 per member per quarter and $25.00 Convention Fee per club per quarter. During the National Convention in St. Louis, delegates voted to raise the National Convention Fee from $15.00 to $25.00 per quarter per club.

A very important reminder to all 33 clubs in the District of the new IRS regulations that have gone into effect this year; all Exchange Clubs are now required to file a tax return with the IRS. For the clubs that have been filing a 990 or 990-E, continue to do so. For the clubs that have revenue of less than $25,000.00, in the past did not have to file a return, now must have to file a 990-N. This filing is for informational purposes only, and no taxes will actually be paid. However, failure to file this return for three consecutive years will result in a penalty charge and an automatic loss of your club’s tax exempt status. Since the Exchange Club operates on a fiscal year of July 1 through June 30, these returns are due to the IRS November 15, 2008.
